Tired of having chapped and dry skin during the winter? Slither out of your current scaly situation with my Lavender Salt Body Scrub! It’s super easy and affordable to make and contains only three natural ingredients!
Although you can choose any oil for your base, I personally prefer jojoba oil. It has no scent, never goes rancid, and is hypoallergenic because it has a similar chemical composition to the sebum of your own skin. I recommend using a fine sea salt, because it will gently polish your skin to perfection without any irritation. I chose to scent the scrub with lavender essential oil, because I tend to use it in the evening before I go to bed. Exfoliation stimulates the circulatory system and can be very energizing, so the soothing scent helps me relax and unwind.
This scrub makes a great gift for your loved ones (and yourself). Simply fill up a beautiful jar with the scrub, tie a cute ribbon or twine around the neck of the jar, and add a personalized tag.
Pamper yourself with this soothing and fragrant body scrub!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup jojoba oil
- 1/2 sea salt
- 15-20 drops of lavender essential oil
Directions
- Combine the oil and salt in a jar.
- Slowly add the essential oil so that you can control the strength of the scent to your liking – drop by drop. Stir until everything is combined.
Notes
Suggested Use:
1. Take a nice warm shower to soften the skin for 5-10 minutes.
2. Turn the water off and gently exfoliate the skin with the scrub, using circular strokes towards the heart (to increase circulation). If you’re trying to wake up: massage the skin with fast and small circular strokes. If you’re trying to relax and wind down: make slower, lighter, and longer oval shaped strokes.
3. Rinse off the scrub with warm water.
